Anything can be done for enough money - is this one of those things? I have an extra spot on the engine for a compressor, could the rest be fit in? Its hot today so it got me curious.

Pick up the parts from a wrecked FJ60 and you'll be good to go. I did it with my BJ60.
Seems like all 60s sold in the USA had A/C from the factory, although I could be wrong. Just get some used OEM parts (but get new dryer, o-rings, etc.) and install them. It is surpringly easy to do.

Any more info on what I'd have to do to get this to work? Does it all just bolt on?

Yep, everything pretty much just bolts on. The secret is changing the fan relay to one for A/C as it powers the whole system ONLY when the fan is on.
