Never on the front! Only if there is no other choice, dont drive at high speeds above 55
Do you have anything to back this up in regard to the TreadWright tires? I am not talking about any other brand at any other time, just the TreadWrights.

This happened to me because of retreads.
Were they TreadWrights?

yikes.......I had a old crown vic that blew out the retreads
Again, were they TreadWrights?

Not trying to be a jerk here, but I am just trying to gather information on TreadWrights ONLY. I too have been thinking about getting some of them, and have only heard of like one or two instances, if that, of TreadWrights ever having any trouble. Yes, I have seen plenty of retreads on the side of the highways from big rigs just like everyone else. But the newer technology and processes they put into these, seems to be way ahead of the older ways. Everyone I have heard from that has personally had TreadWrights, has had zero problems, and has loved them. And they have used them just as a new tire, just as Woody mentioned.

So please only respond to my questions if you have information on TreadWrights ONLY. Thanks. ;) I do look forward to more responses.

A little thread necropsy here, but I thought I'd chip in with my $0.02.

I've been running Treadwright guard dog (MTR clone) with their Kedge Grip in a 285/75R16 for forty plus thousand miles now on my FZJ80.

I have daily driven it, thousand mile per day road tripped it, wheeled it hard on the rocks while aired down to 12psi and a full load of camping gear and family on board, taken week long overland trips with it, towed with it, snow wheeled through 3 feet of fresh snow, buried it in knee deep mud, forded water crossings deeper than my mirrors, and hillclimbed the sharpest most abrasive shale you've ever seen.

After all that, these tires still have another 20 thousand miles left in them. My pressures don't vary, they balanced out with very little weight (had to take it to a commercial truck shop because chain run tire stores still think it's 1972 and retreads are the devil- they won't even look at them).

The commercial shop which has ACTUAL REAL FIRSTHAND KNOWLEDGE about retreads had nothing but high praise for their construction and mounted them without any problems.

Plenty of people who heard stories from their cousins-friends-uncle about evil retreads will call you names and question your love for your family if you put these on your daily driver.

I'm here to call BS on that. These are fantastic tires in all conditions. Best I've ever owned hands down. My wife insists that we buy a set for the other truck as well. They provide that much confidence in the snow and ice.

Care for them as you would any other tire (don't drive 90mph through the 110 degree desert heat with a heavy load after wheeling, where you forget to verify your inflation pressures after airing down) and they will serve you well.

Misuse ANY tire and don't act surprised when catastrophic failure occurs.

Real world experience says that Treadwright tires are a solid deal at twice the price.

I'm lookin at some 31 10.5 r15 guard dogs I have heard a lot of good things about i just ain't sure if they will fit under my truck. That is the size I was told will fit so I may just try and see what happens
