Anyone have a favorite source for repair panels? All I have found is floorboards. Looking for rockers, fenders, etc.
Also, for those in the know....how reliable is the FI on the Tii? Is it Bosch D-Jetronic like the 3.0CSi?
I have an "opportunity" to pick up 3 2002s, all with desirable components. Not looking to do anything fancy, just a decent DD.
Like I need another project:rolleyes:

Thanks, Helpy Helperton! Im sure you meant to post in my other thread titled "What do you think of a BMW 2002?"
:flipoff2:

BTW, it thinks you are fugly, too;)

I like it/them!

If I were to own an old Bimmer that would be the one!

You might want to PM cary and see if he might know somewhere to pick parts up for old BMW's.

Good luck and have fun!

try Keystone, that is the company most body shops and dealers use

Pretty much every body panel is still available through BMW, but they have been steadily going up in price over the last few years. Rockers are $95 each, fenders are $555 each, doors are $580, hoods are $925. Aftermarket body panels are pretty much nonexistant for them now. The tii injection is mechanical. It uses an injection pump that provided it's working is quite reliable. If it's not it's insanely expensive to replace, but I think there is still a few places that rebuild them. Check out 2002faq.com also. Someday i'll have a 2002, but I can barely find the time to wrench on the stuff I have lately. Pretty much all of them in my price range within reasonable towing distance of me are too rusty to bother with anyhow.

I specialize in European vehicles and love the 2002, look some good vids of them at berg-cup.com you're a little northwest of me but I have some GREAT BMW resources, contact me for info

Tii's are super cool, BUT They use a mechanical fuel injection, very different from the 3.0cs...

The tii's mechanical fuel injection uses a "Kugelfischer(sp?)" which is a chain, maybe its a belt not sure, driven fuel pump, which is notorious for being very stubborn, but there is a place in california that will rebuild them...for a small price.

Tii's were one of the first fuel injections on BMW's and the injection systems runs at right around 500psi. very unique system, and when it runs right it is a blast to drive. I loved my 2002, great gas mileage, fun to drive, and that m10 is bullet proof, the engine had a slight knock and I drove the piss out of it! itwas just more of a project than I needed, I already had the land cruiser, as well as a 1967 porsche..

my .02 cents is if you life em and have the time to fiddle with that FI pump go for it. they are cool cars!
