can anyone tell me how to reset my tire pressure sensor. I am tired of seeing a flashing light on my dash cluster.

Its a 2008 Tacoma TRD.

a bit new to the taco scene, transfered over from the SUV family:D

Make sure all your tires are properly inflated. Including the spare. My wife's SUV pulled this stunt last winter. Always check the spare, too.

My 05 Tundra would do this once in a while. I usually had to wiggle my arm and an air chuck onto the spare tire and add 3 or so pounds of air into it to balance out the 5 tires or at least get it back into the range a person needs to be within.
I'm not sure what pressure your Taco wants to see but I suspect look at the sticker on your drivers door jam for tire inflation pressure and that should be the spec.
Also possible that if you have recently had a tire replaced or something that the tire shop could damage a sensor in the rim or for some maybe removed it and put in a new valve stem without the factory pressure sensor in it.
My 09 Chevy work truck will do this when I had air in the tires rather than nitrogen at - 30 deg C . It actually scrolls up to tell you left front tire low and right front tire low. The chevy had to be within 4 psi I think or it would trip this service reminder.

did you get pressure sensors put in those black steel rims? It sucks as having a set of winter rims now makes a guy buy extra set of pressure sensors and then the dealership has some way to reset the sensors to the truck. If a person goes back and forth betwen 2 sets of rims with sensors in them I'm not sure if the system needs a relearn each swap out or not. Will ask today at the dealership.
Not sure how we back yarders do that.

I never even thought to check the spare pressure, I can't believe theres a sensor there also. hopefully thats the culprit.

I had to buy 4 sensors for the steel rims which cost me an extra 300 bucks:censor:. but now i have two sets of tires/wheels.

does anyone have a little button beneath the steering column that has a picture of what looks like a deflated tire? Is this for resetting the factory pressure setting????

If you get all 5 tires inflated to the same pressure there is a procedure that involves turning the key off and on and holding that button under the steering wheel. And it should reset the pressure setting. But I don't know what it is exactly any more, and I could never get mine to work. But the tire shop messed up two of my sensors for sure, and replaced them, but who knows how many other ones the messed up. And I don't know anything about tying in the new sensors to your truck.

Check the owner's manual about resetting the pressure setting.

Usually a flashing TPMS light is an indication that one or more of the sensors is not communicating with the system. May just need to be scanned and reprogrammed. Very few independent shops have the tool for Toyota, just had to have one done at the dealer, $125.

Yes.

When you bought the 4 new sensors for your steel wheels, did you confirm these were "compatible" with the sensor in the spare? I was under the impression that all 5 had to be in sync, so if all 5 are inflated properly and within a few PSI of each other, I'd try to figure out from Toyota if there are any RF differences or something like that that might cause the variance.
