As with all my attempts to fix things myself, I ran into a snag today. I tried to replace the rear O2 sensors and it turns out the parts I ordered didn't fit. Oh well, three hours and a pair of bloody knuckles later I gave up and moved to the front ones.

How the heck do you get to them? The sensor has a 22 mm fitting on it and I could see how that size would fit on there, but there is no way a normal wrench would have enough room to turn. I started taking off the shroud that seems to be in the way until I tried to get the underside nut off. No fricking way I would have gotten it off and gotten it back on! Without taking it off, I see no way of getting in there to get the O2 sensor out.

I thought it would be a two banana job, but now it looks like I am going to have to take it in.

Any thoughts?

long extension and an o2 sesnor socket.

aboult half the time, they sieze in and won't come out, though.
Then you get to replace the manifolds.

Yep, it's a V8. Even if I had a O2 ratchet, which doesn't make any sense due to the size of the plug in wire fitting, I don't see enough room in there to move it.

Plus, now my truck stalls everywhere. I swear to God that all I removed was the rear passenger side sensor, and I put it back. Why would the truck stall because of that? I'm peeved...

It's there. I've done dozens of sets of tundra sensors (and a bunch of manifolds)
The other way is the socket and a breaker bar.
It's tight, but there's room.
I also did it on a lift..... on the ground in the driveway might suck ass.

Toyota also extended part of the warranty for some of them, to cover screwed up manifolds from the sensors being siezed.
