Got pics? You should be able to simply change the circulator if it is flanged. Do you have shutoff valves close to the circ to limit the amount of water that leaks out of the system.

Grab a couple pics and try heatinghelp.com for the best advice, should be tons of plumbers from your neck of the woods on that board.

green taco circulator pump? TURN OFF ELECTRICITY, turn off water. unbolt, replace. turn everything on. bleed rads of any air that got in the system.

its actually a B&G series 100GY

sound easy enough...i'll have to give it a go

i think the springs let go on the inside on the cuppling...i'm going to see if i can just repair it...but...we'll see

Thanks Guys

Why is a pump involved with a gas furnace?

Why is a pump involved with a gas furnace?

Because he really has a gas fired boiler and is just calling it a furnace.

JohnnyC, If it is just the motor it is easy to replace. If it is the bearing in the pump assembly that has seized the repair can get more complex, especially if you don't have water shutoff valves on either side of the pump. By you stating that the springs have let go inside the coupling tells me the bearing in the pump has probably seized. If you don't have shut off valves, like my 1930s system lacked, you will need to drain the entire system to replace the pump assembly.

You can get the replacement pump from Ferguson Enterprises, Inc. – Plumbing and Builder Products.

edit, looks like you fixed it while I was typing my post.
