The manual says 24k miles for 2uz without three-way cat, 48k miles for 2uz with three-way cat.

So the 25-30k I stated earlier off the top of my head was wrong. Fuel filter should be changed every 48k miles. Either way, it’s not a lifetime part by any means.
Well, I’ve received the same BS “lifetime” line on the transmission fluid, for the non-dipstick A750F, from the Lexus dealership. I don’t buy that one either.

I strongly disagree. At 205k miles all of my injector o-rings, grommets, and insulators were hard and brittle, and one injector had poor flow. Just a matter of time before a leak sprung and burned the truck to the ground. Plus the Toyota spec’d service interval for fuel filter replacement is 25-30k miles.
I may look at mine. I haven't had issues on any of the 2uzs I have worked on including some well into the 300k range. But that doesn't mean they don't need a service.

Who did you have flow test and service them?

My fuel filter was an original at 185k. Not saying it's a good thing but just pointing out that it was.

I agree that even at 300k it seems unlikely to have issues. But on two separate 2uzs with 200-220k miles, I pulled the injectors and the o-rings, grommets, and insulators, which are all rubber bits, were dead and falling apart on both. We all know how $hitty other rubber parts get inside the engine bay after 200k miles, so it’s presumably even worse after 300k miles.

#NeverForget this guy, who chose not to replace the injector o-rings, grommets, and insulators and his 2uz subsequently caught on fire and burned his truck to the ground, along with half of his garage:

I sent mine to FIS in Wheat Ridge. Paul recommended them multiple times and the guy did a great job. Very thorough report and the price was more than reasonable compared to other shops: About Us - https://www.fuelinjectorspecialists.com/About-Us

Mine was too at 205k. I replaced it along with most everything else in the fuel system.

Sent mine to FIS as well. Very happy with them and would work with them again.
I would note that they put new o-rings on when they service them.
