The Denso (JBL) stereo/NAV unit in my wifes 2008 Highlander has developed a problem. If listening to CDs, radio or AUX input, the sound 'stutters'. The bluetooth phone sounds perfect and the turn by turn voice sounds perfect. This makes me think it is not in the external amplifier under the passenger seat, but in the head unit itself. Does anyone know of an electronics repair business that you would recommend look at this?

I can pull the head unit and ship it wherever, and pay a bench fee to determine what it needs.

Found a place! Evidently this place is where everyone sends OEM Navigation, DVD, CD, etc systems for repair.

United Radio in E. Syracuse, NY www.unitedradio.com

They said they've seen the problem ours is experiencing and have successfully repaired this problem before. Likely cost will be $200-$225. Much less than the $1000 for a used take-out unit.

So... United Radio is awesome. I shipped the Nav unit to them, they unpacked it and diagnosed it the same day it arrived to them. Within 2 hours their technician called me to say that the head unit checks out just fine and they were shipping it back to me. NO CHARGE for diagnosis or for return shipping!!! His words were ''we don't charge anything if we don't fix anything''. He also told me that he wished I had called and talked to him before sending in the head unit because he was 99% sure the problem is in the rear seat entertainment system. He said that because the sound comes from the rear DVD player into the main system, I could unplug the RSES and the problem would go away. I tried it and he was totally right.

We now have the option of leaving the RSES out of commission or sending it in for repair. I highly recommend United Radio! Way over the top customer service!
