I just took my old delta bench grinder apart to fix a couple of things, and figured might as well take the chance to repaint it. Have a question - With the outdoor temperature below 50, I might have to finish this inside the garage where I don't have much space. So, can I use the brush paint (in stead of spray paint)? Will the result be as good as the spray paint?

just do it

I spray paint out side all year round. I have painted at 18 deg f.
The material needs to be warm. Ie taken from the indoors .
and for best results taken back into the warm indoors after spraying.

I have got good results with enamels like rustoleum brushing.
you need a high quality brush. Fine hairs. these brushes can cost as much 18.00
Make sure the item you are painting is warm and the space you are
painting in is warm. this allows the paint to (flow out) or level off the high spots from brushing.

Try it on a piece of scrap. if the result is what y ou are looking for
go for it.

good luck.

I did it

Many thanks to Dirtsquirt for the suggestion. My restoration is getting close to complete. Here is pictures of before and after.
