removing the mat set plate?

I can not find the clips/release for taking out the mat set plate @ the rear of the cargo area. I have removed the 5 screws and poked around with a plastic wedge and taped screw driver but unable to release it.

Can someone tell me how they got it up?

I'm putting a lot of pressure on the plastic thinking this has got to be expensive if I break it..

I'll go tug on it some more.
