Hi all,

Does anyone have any idea how heavy the body on a 45 troopy is likely to be, I'm ready to lift it off the chassis and was thinking of winching it up to the rafters in the garage to roll the chassis out, just wanted to make sure I don't pull the garage down in the process. The body is completely disasembled, so I'm only talking about the bed and the firewall bit, no roof or sides?

Any other thoughts on lifting the body without a hoist?

Thanks

Stevo

I´m thinking about 300 to 350 kilos. It´s been a while since i´ve lifted mine, 7 years to be exact, but that's what i recall it to be.

Jackstands? Hanging it from the garage ceiling sounds dangerous.

Got my lv by crawling in the attic with a 4x4 that would span 4 timbers or 16x4... . The 4x4 was drilled and put an eye bolt through it. I then hooked a pully to the eye bolt. I did this for the front and the back. It worked well. However... make sure that you have heavy duty metal. Not Made in taiwan crap. Get some american steel.

There are some pictures on how I did this here
