I need to remove and either repair or replace the driver side seat position switch on my 2005 LX470.

(The seat goes back and forth, but not up/down under the thighs)

I have searched for any detailed instructions or videos but no luck. Can anyone provide Instructions or link to any video somewhere … specifically for 100 series?

There's a pretty good chance that what's failing on the seat isn't the switch, but rather the little plastic gears on the motors that do the moving. I've seen this on a dozen 100s, including two of mine. I sold one and have never fixed the other one but I vaguely remember a thread on this forum where people had addressed it and successfully repaired it. I seem to remember that the part wasn't available but that 80 series gears were good enough? Maybe I'm dreaming this last part.

It might be that or a broken pin inside the switch... i am just looking for how to gain access / remove the switch to repair it

Not sure if the LX is any different but you'll most likely need to remove the seat so you can take off the plastic trim pieces to get into the switch

Well i was not able to figure out how to remove the switch for lack of any reference videos but found another work around my problem. I read on another thread that you can use Techstream to operate the driver seat positions. So I connected the car with Techstream, selected "Driver Seat" / Activity Test / and then selected "Front Vertical Operation". It then gave me a small dialog box that has a Left arrow (to move the seat up) and a Right arrow (to move the seat down). I clicked the left arrow but nothing happened. The trick is to double click and hold the left arrow and it will move the seat "all the way up". Caution because you cannot stop the upward movement in the middle... it will move the seat all the way up.

I left it at that. Disconnected Techstream and set my seat memory #1 to this seat position at all the way up. Then lowered the seat small bits at a time carefully until my desired position and set my seat memory #2 to this new position.

If and when I need to adjust the seat again, i can always press seat memory 1 to bring the seat all the way up and work my way down from there. Easy! No need to mess with the seat position switch :))
