This is kind of land cruiser related, as my kids keep bumping the door of my 80 into my wife's minivan and leaving nice white marks. We are going to be trading in the van and I need to get rid of the paint marks.

What should I use without messing up the clearcoat or underlying paint?

What ever you use use it lightly. Like polishing compound. Check with a local body shop they might just give you a little of the stuff they use so you can get the marks out to sell your car.

Peep Boys sells clear coat friendly scratch remover (yellow bottle stuff) that is pretty hardto f-up with. Make sure whatever you get is clear coat friendly...otherwise you'll need more than hand power to make it right.
