I am posting this in the Chat section because it is not Cruiser related....I have a Mitsubishi MinCab Japanese 4x4 truck on my farm.

Of course it is lifted with big tires on it and I always push the limit on things and I broke the short side CV joint.

I found the parts and while they are shipping I decided to try to figure out how to pull the CV.

I dug around on the hub end and got free, but on the differential end, I cannot get it out.

Do I have to pop the cover and pull out some sort of C Clip like a Cruiser axle?

I have a 100 series, but I have never had to change the CVs.

The front diff has an inspection cover like a Dana axle, so that kinda tells me I may have to pop the cover to get any warther in removing the CV.

Anyone have any idea?

I called my brother on this. He is an engineer for CAT in south east asia. There are some of those trucks on the mine sites apparently. Most have Cruiser Troopy's but anyway. Best he can tell from speaking with the shop forman at the mine he is at is pull the diff cover. The forman was not sure if it was a pop out with prybar type (ala front wheel drive domestic car) or a full C-clip like an 8.8 or such. Either way, I'd start by pulling the diff cover. I asked about parts and he said they are everywhere over there so no biggie. He based in Bejing right now so it would be tomorrow if he needed to fax info.
