As it sits now, my amp for my subs are attached to the sub box. I am wondering if it is possible to install it in a way that will allow me to just unplug the wires from the box and amp when I would want the extra room in the back of the lx450.

Sure, That's what I did. Amps in the rear quarter panels, with some wire and banana plugs to easily plug into my JLw7 box.

Is that what you mean or I did I miss something?

Awesome. That's what I'm talking about. U do anything to account for the amp heat in the rear panels? I've only got a 55x2 punch amp. Got any close up pics?

I wouldn't. Ill dig up pics when I get home. I have large (size wise) 600w amp mounted in the rear pass. quarter. The "stock" sub grill is pretty close to the internal/onboard fan of the amp. No overheating issues at all. Very similar to CC's setup.
Super easy to just unplug and move aside.

In meantime search here in the 80' tech, lots of similar setups.

I modified my stock amp/sub bracket (behind the panel on the PS in the cargo area) and mounted my amp there.

One ratchet strap and two speaker wires later I had my cargo area wide open.

I don't know how much space you have in your rear quarter panels, but in a 60 there is enough space for the newer shallow subs. I used to have a 10" Dayton sub in a .3 cu ft box that was only 3.75"deep. I blew that one up and replaced it with a Pioneer.

Completely hidden and my 60 does thump now.

You can fit 2 amps in the rear passenger side quarter. As far as the sub you can fit it in a small10" sub where the factory sub is or have an removable box in the rear

In the lx the "sub" is in the center console. I just got a quote for $435 to install a cd player, iPod connector run to center console, and run the wires to a plug he would install in the back and it will make the sub plug and play.I forget the type of plug but it's on the write up. So I'm just gonna order what he was going to install and install it myself. Prolly won't get on this for a couple weeks but I will post some pics when I finish it up.
