Hey guys. My dad has a car hauler that he has been using as a utility trailer. When he purchased it, it had stake pockets welded on, and someone build sides on it, in two 8 foot panels. I wanted to figure out some way to use 16 foot boards, and be able to take off each board individually. Anyone have a good idea on how to attach the 16 footers to the upright and be able to easily remove it?

Bend some strap to look a bit like those stake pockets, only with a flange at each end, and bolt them to the 16 footers. Make the stakes individual parts, then slide the 16's down over them.
I will suggest making them a pair of 8's and using the minimum necessary stakes as aligning a lot of them all at once is difficult. My 7' trailer has sideboards with 3 fixed/attached stakes and getting all three stakes aligned & not binding is a lesson in perseverance.
