Nice.

5 does and 2 fawns yesterday....nothing today. Well I did get a coyote...so that 40# dead female coyote ought to ensure at least a dozen turkeys and 2-3 deer herself...plus how ever many her pups would have done the next 5 years.

no, shot with my rifle and there was not much left on opposite side...not just patching but whole area big as my hand completely gone....so was not worth it. It is feeding buzzards...

wife made me take the rifle to get some meat for freezer since it is doe season now with tags....wanted to sit a stand that had a lot of hogs in it and a couple deer.

instead i sat my dads box blind where I saw a small doe last weekend and figured if an old nanny did not come out I could take it and put it in freezer and then go out with bow for a few weeks until she tells me to get another. LOL

little doe came out again...but she was a he...button buck so let him walk again. then at dark he was scared off but it wasnt the wind blowing my scent to him. Looked over and a big deer standing there surveying area...i grunted and he bowed up. Almost too dark to shoot but put it on him and the rest is history.

2 for 2 (coyote and buck)

8 points...157lbs. They are starting to rut...his neck was already starting to swell and he responded to estrus bleat and grunting and chased off the button buck.

Nice. What does coyote taste like?

never ate and dont plan on it....it was purely to help save some of our native wildlife from this invasive species that is accounting for up to 75% of the fawn mortality and turkey mortality....

dnr guy told me if they could get people to shoot every one they see we still would not do more than keep them under control and make them scared of people...which is more than we have now.

You are an invasive species.

Hard to imagine people that don't eat coyote,...

I am not sure we are going to get same land...as the owner/manager has not been helpful in keeping poachers/trespassers out and had issues with neighbors cows coming and destroying feeders to eat the 600# of corn and stolen game cameras.

So we are looking at finding something else potentially....but will let you know.
