My Question-
This is a daily driver till Feb. when it will be retired to camping/expo rig/road trips (Trans Lab/Newfoundland/Nova Scotia 6/2011).
I'm constantly adding more weight as you can see. I am to no suprise getting slower! When I tow I get down to about 30 mph going up long grades and it seems to put a good strain on the drivetrain.
Is it going to make much of a difference going to 4:88's? Or is it time to go 5:29 and say goodbye to ever seeing over 60mph...lol.
I don't think 5:29's would work on the highway for me. In MA I think I would be a hazard on the road!
Please keep in mind a SC or turbo is not in my future.

I have 4.88s in my truck and have done quite a few like that. It's a nice bump in performance without killing the highway. A few guys have gone with 5.29s but they are the earlier 3FE 80s with different tranny gears.

I've got a 04 Runner with ARB bumper, winch, full bedbuilt skids, roof rack, sliders, etc. I regeared to 4.88 and notice a pretty good improvement on the highway. especially in the 60-70mph range.
