I was wondering if anyone has been out to Redbird SRA? I want to go but I do not know what the trails are like, I can't find much info on trails on the internet. Is there something for everyone (factory rig like my FJC) or is it hardcore stuff?
Thanks for any info,
Robert

Why do you say to not go there alone? Do I hear fiddles and folks talking about a pretty mouth?

Robert

In general it's not a good idea to wheel alone. If you get stuck then get injured while trying to get unstuck no one is there to get you the help you might need. It is usually easier to get unstuck if you have another truck along to give a tug. What takes a minute or two with another truck might take hours by yourself with a shovel and Hi lift. If your truck breaks it's a long walk to help too. Not everywhere has cell service. Even if everywhere did you can't always get a tow truck in to a broken rig to recover it. Friends with experience and tools can be invaluable when things go wrong (they always do eventually...).

Makes sense, when you put it that way. Anybody want to maybe meet up there in two weeks on Saturday? It will be my first time really 4wheeling so I want to be safe.

Thanks,
Robert

Where are you located? Redbird is not to far from me, but I have never been there. I am pretty sure I can't make it, and I think they might close over the winter, be sure to check. I have to save all my pennies to make the trek to Atlanta to trade my Porsche for a 77 Vega that runs 6.70 in the 1/8th at 103 mph. If your not to far from Redbird maybe we can get together there sometime.

Are you talking about Dec. 15th?

Yes the 15th, do you think they would close? If so, badlands will be open right? And to answer another question, I live in Cumberland which is a little town on the far eastside of Indianapolis.

Robert

Redbird closed Nov. 25th. Will not reopen until April 5th. I checked the DNR site.

Well maybe if we could get 10 people to commit? I am still open to going, I need to know soon as the wife would rather me do something else than go play in the mud and maybe snow :grinpimp: Silly girls, just don't understand.

Want to try Redbird some time but I cannot on the 15th. Hope you can get a group together. Always remember to wheel with a friend, only time I go alone is in my own woods, and usually my buddy rides along even then. Will see you on the trails sometime. Tony.
