Saw a nice (I have a phone pic I'll post later) 1979 FJ40 today. I saw him spewing black smoke as he pulled out onto the highway by our house. 15 minutes later saw him parked at the auto shop and stopped by to write him a letter. Just as I'm leaving he stops by and said hello. It was pouring rain so I didn't get a good look but looked really clean. Said he imported it from South America just a few months ago and was getting some exhuast work done and he had some injections problems (hence all the black smoke). Not sure which diesel engine but he said it was Toyota.
I invited him here to the forum and to the ride this weekend if he gets it working right.
