Greetings,

I just wanted to post up here to say hello, and ask for a few recommendations.

I'm swinging up to Colorado for the first time with my truck for the Solid Axle Summit from Aug 10-14th, and my boss was silly enough to let me "work remotely" for a week before and after the event. Likely from anywhere that has Wi-Fi.

With that said I'm Looking to camp, and or live within my means.

Does anyone know of any good campsites in that area? (BLM/Dispersed) Something only the guys on Mud might know about? Always one to respect the environment and a well kept secret, I just want to see the best Colorado has to offer

Also, if anyone knows of some good cafes with WI-Fi or someplace along those lines I would be greatful

Thanks in advance
James

I second the south mineral creek idea, otherwise there is a forest service campground on the Yankee Boy Basin road

South Mineral Creek is great! Lots of dispersed camping areas. Depending on your level of off the gridness, there are some GREAT spots at the end of the road, but no bathrooms, tables, etc, but also very few people. Most of the other dispersed areas can be pretty busy, especially on the weekends, and the USFS campground is nearly impossible to get into (plus $20 a night). If you want to be up north, there are a couple USFS campgrounds up Yankee Boy, but again, busy and usually full. There are a few dispersed camping areas up Sydney and Governor Basins, but they are remote with no facilities. Send me a PM if you want more details. Our club will be down Aug 25-29...
