A friend is visiting the Bay Area and his 100 had a major issue, he was told it was the transmission. That's all I know. I'm going to talk to him tonight and get more info. The rig is in California, he had to leave it and rented a car to drive back to AZ.

Any recommendations would be much appreciated!

Yarnell Service Center in Mountain View.
Only doing Toyota, Lexus and similar after warranty. He has more experience on Toyotas, not sure what he's doing on transmissions.
Very reasonable priced. Friend had his alternator change on his 2010 RAV4. ~450 inkl Denso Alternator. He programmed me 3 keys for $20.
Just don't be afraid of huge dogs laying around in the shop :)

Bob's Almaden Transmission in San Jose. Good guy, former Marine, denies jobs that don't make sense, ... send greetings from the guy with the orange van :)
He can surely do any transmission in case Yarnell is not doing it. Every time I dropped a vehicle off I came by when he quit working, brought a beer and we chatted a bit :)

Edit: Let me know in case I can be of help. Based in broader Cupertino area.

Great Thanks much appreciated

Updates?

Nothing yet I don't know what he's doing. Thanks for asking

No suggestions on a shop but I can tell you we've seen plenty of forums show up here that say transmission failure and it turns out to be related to a failure with the C-Clips / CV axles . Make sure they look closer.

Transmission failure would be more likely if fluid is low, dirty, burnt, leaking, etc.
