i always get a sell job from the dealer when I buy a new car. And because I don't like to be pressured I say no. But should I have my new Blizzard White paint sealed and something like GMs Clear Bra put on? Does it hold up over the years?

Absolutely get top quality 3M clear bra put on the mirrors, under door handles, and 1/3 of the hood. I would highly recommend you find an aftermarket shop do it that will warranty it. It should be your first investment mod.

Complete agree. For sure don't do it at the dealership as they using cheap film. I have 3M (front, headlights, mid hood and fenders, mirrors, under door handles). Paint sealant after is a good idea too, but don't do it at the dealer. Sealant costs no more than $20 and you can do it yourself.

Got it. Thanks!

I purchased a 2013 Blaze Pearl LC this month. Put XPEL clear bra on front 1/3 hood, fenders, bumper, head lights and all four door edges. $1000.00 OUCH. Hope it works out. 10 year warranty.

I did the same after I got my 14 pearl white LC - super easy to clean the front end. I also did the headlight and fig light lenses.

Holy smokes!

$1000 seems super high...

One can buy Slee's battle-ready, super-heavy-duty *sliders* for $975,
or ARB's full set of skids plates for just $566.

What is the material made of?

I am in the midst of removing a clear bra that has aged and discolored. I would NEVER EVER put this crap on a car I own. I just bought the car and am 1/3 of the way through the removal and it has taken me 5 hours.

This is what I was concerned about. Especially on a white exterior. I did it on my Bronze LR4 so any aging/yellowing will not show. But on a Pearl White, it could definitely become an issue.

My car is pearl white. Love the color. The places that I have removed the film the paint is in excellent shape.

I think I would want it to age uniformly. If it ages, it does. I keep it in a garage when not driving.

What film did you have? Removal is super easy. Never had film discolored as well. I had expel on three cars with never being a problem.

Super easy? How many cars/trucks have you actually removed film from? What as the age of the film?

What method did you use to remove?

I just removed the Lexus clear bra from our 2010 LX570 as it looked like crap and allowed dirt and moisture to get in and corrode the paint. It was a complete nightmare to remove as the material was starting to get brittle and ripped apart after pulling a few inches off. Took me 3 hours to remove it. Will do the mirrors next weekend. BTW: Lexus wanted $1200 to remove and replace. I did hear from a few folks that replacing after 2-3 years makes removal easier as the plastic is not brittle. Not doing that again.

Removed from couple cars. Oldest was 5 years old on my GS350 after lamp post dropped on it. Let it sit on the sun and then further heated up corner to grab it and started pulling with a little force. I had few places where adhesive stayed on which came off easily with goo gone. Other one was fairly new due to poor install (me learning how to install). In both cases I had quality film to start with (xpel & 3m)

What about just doing the chrome bits and the headlights? Lots of chrome on these 2016's and after a couple of winters with magchloride I expect it is not going to look pretty. (Not a fan of chrome but it is what it is.)

I did some research and this looked like a good idea. A little expensive but with a 10 year warranty I went for it. Call me in 10 years.
