First off just for fun here was my recent project starting with before pics:

I then had an oops and rammed a stick into the fiberglass header panel and was to chicken to fix it because it delammed a small section on a park light tab and i didn't want the park light to sit crooked or high or something (chicken)

I searched for months and finally gave up and ordered a new header panel and i always wanted the grill to be the same color!!

So here was my process and please pic it apart because my painter buddy and I are not pros well he is a professional body man (over 10 years) but learning on the painting. I hadn't seen him in a while and didn't want to ask him to fix my header panel so i just bought one if your wondering.
Since the grill was all bare plastic we used FUSAR 602 which was a plastic modifier to help with adhesion (Here is my question) but then we used some epoxy primer on everything that was a single stage or (whatever) it didn't have a catalyst...... It was nice because we were able to not mix and also dump our remainder back into the container for next time however i cant help but assume it isn't as good as epoxy primer with catalyst...... Right or wrong or whatever???
We then threw mason PW1 base and 2k clear on there and done.

Any thoughts? that epoxy was so simple and cheaper but is it worth it?? Cheap and easy is worth zero if it sucks....
Thanks

dupont products are ok. i know when i shot my 40 we did it with chromobase and chromo clear. My painter didn't shoot enough clear ( cheap ass) so it chips easy. I foudn a guy where i live and he shoots a top of the line german paint that is tough as nails. Spies Hector. I am taking it to them and they are going to sand the clear and reshoot. the only advantage to dupont paints is the eas of shooting and the color match. thats where spies hector comes in short. As far as using Nason ( single stage) with a two stage clear 2k they are different brands. Dupont recomends shooting base and clear without letting the clear dry and sanding before clear. This is what the manufacturer recomends because the paint base and clear bonds better and adhears better this way. I think your in the clear as long as you didn't spray your different brand clear wet. If you sanded it after the nason dried and then shot your clear you should be fine.
