I just rebuilt my Holley 7448 2 barrel and when I started my it up it raced way to high. I'm lucky it didn't backfire when I shut it down. I had the fast idle screw 1 1/2 turns open so it wasn't that. Would this be internal or something I can adjust without taking it off again. Any ideas on what I could have done wrong.

Stuck accelerator pump? Douche it with b-12 chemtool...thats my fix all

Choke on or off? Was throttle cable connected? If so, did you make sure it wasn't pulling butterfly open? Is that carb electric, vacuum, manual, or no choke? Is timing known to be correct? Sorry, no answers. But these are the best questions I can come up with that may lead to them.
