Has anyone rebuilt their carburetor in their FJ60? Any suggestions? What problems did you have or what resources did you use? Anyone know where to find some diagrams or instructions?

1. yes.
2. to quote Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, "assembly of Japanese bicycle requires peace of mind". Rebuilding the carburetor is not difficult, but you need to be in a quite, uncluttered place and take your time.
3. I put a washer underneath the power valve, which prevented it from closing all the way, causing it to run rich and fail smog. My experience with generic rebuild kits is that you often get more parts then you need. If your carburetor history is known and it was working properly, pay attention to what goes where as you disassemble, then put it back together the same way. Use whatever tricks you need to help your memory, take pictures, label parts, etc.
4. get the factory service manual (enging manual). It has a thorough description of the procedure
5. same as 4.
6 (extra credit) If you're still not sure you can do it, send it to one of the guys on this list that does it for a living.

Ask carb rebuild to JimC

Or talk to Mark at Marks off road..

Both of them do a VERY good job..
