To install new carpet and to run new stereo wiring I pulled the front seats and console. Prior to this my aftermarket rearview camera an headunit (Pioneer) worked just fine.

Probably worth noting the truck runs fine and the transmission is fine and the dash display of the gear selection is all correct.

However, the rearview/reverse camera is out o sync somehow. If I go to reverse the headunit does not display the camera. If I then go to park, the headunit tries to start up the camera, but the camera doesn't work as it is drawing power from the backup lights.

Nothing else changed - is there an adjustment under the console I need to attend to, or ???

Sorry for being such a dummy but I can't figure out how just doing an R&R of the console housing could do this.

The Pioneer has a setup option to select the reverse signal as either high or low. Sounds like it may be backwards. If someone else installed the Pioneer, they would have configured this already and if you disconnected power at all, it's possible that it got reset. I don't have my manual handy, but you could search through the settings in the backup camera area. Usually in with backup lines and flip video L/R settings. Hope that fixes it.

I installed it, but I did disconnect power and didn't think about the settings - thanks will give it a try and report back,

Props to @RootMeanSqr - his suggestion did indeed hit the mark. I had forgotten that that way I am wired up required that I switch the reverse camera polarity to "Battery". For anyone else experiencing this, by default my pioneer unit uses "Ground", but there is also an "Off" setting

Awesome! Glad it was that simple!
