Last night my rear wiper just started going - without being turned on.

I tried everything and the only way to turn it off was to pull the fuse.

It is not like it is fully on, it groans and works very slowly. It works normal if I go ahead and turn it on.

Switch bad? If so, where would you purchase a new one?

Could it be something else? I know this is probably simple to you, but your opinions are valuable to me.

Thanks for reading

It sounds like the switch is the problem but I am no expert. If you need a new switch check out cruiserparts.net or sor.com. They have pretty much everything you need. Cruiserparts.net ususaly has used parts where sor.com has aftermarket and oem parts at a much higher price.

Good luck, I hope you find the ghost.

Most likely it's the switch, but...toyota uses a switched ground system in many of the electrical devices (maybe most or all, don't know). If the rear wiper uses a switched ground, then a short to ground somewhere in the wire to the wiper motor would start it up.
