Rear View Mirror Oops

Hello all-

I was trying remove the rear view mirror on my '90 Truck when I took out the little black screw in the back of the mirror, which only loosens the pivot.

Now, I can't get the screw back in. Does anyone know what the trick is to getting this screw in?

Would an impact driver help out?

It has worked for me with some stubborn screws in the past...
