I finished my new Tube bumper!! It will have a double fuel can mount on the passenger side, mounted on tabs and removable. THe Scepter cans just arrived this morning :) It does have a 2" receiver that is removeable and mounts using the same 6 bolts as the OEM 2" receiver. by making it removeable you gain 4.2 degrees in departure angle. Has 4 mounting points for shackles and extra back up lights.

Really great looking work there NCFJ

How much time did you end up putting into it?

Great design... might get calls for orders :D

Thanks much :)
I really have no idea how much time I have in it as I was working on it in between other projects. Lots of bends though.

Looks really good! What are the other attachment points besides the "hitch-6"?
Thanks a lot:cheers:
There are 4 attachment points for shackles, 2 are shown. The 2" receiver attaches using the same configuration as the OEM hitch only the receiver is in between the two tubes rather than below the bumper. There will be tabs on the passenger side to the right of the tire to mount gerry cans or a ladder or whatever, all removable.

Sorry, you misunderstood my question. How does the bumper attach to the frame? You mentioned the same hitch-6 bolts, but what supports your swingout and the "wings" of your design?

Ahh, there are two 12 mm capture nuts on each frame rail, two on each side for a total of 10 12mm grade 10.9 (metric equivelent to grade 8) bolts supporting the bumper. There are 1/4" plates on the bottom of the frame rail and at 90 degrees to catch the supports for the sides of the bumper. I used the same setup on a 4RNR bumper and the guy ended up hanging the rear end up on oone of the side wings and it did not budge. All the tubing is 1.5" & 1.25" .188" (3/16) wall DOM so it is pretty much bullet proof.

very nice. looks like you installed the back up sensors in little steel tabs - do they work?

Awesome work...another great product. I cant wait to slap on my front bumper!

Very nice work ....

Of all the aftermarket rear bumpers I have seen for the FJ, I just gotta tell you that your's is the nicest, most functional and best that I have seen. That is awesome!

Great bumper.........went wheeling in Al this weekend. We all took some major hits and this bumper came out unscathed. So, the bumper is definitely stout!

Thanks a lot guys, I am glad the bumper is so well received.

The back up sensors do work, as well as they ever did which is far from impressive. I sure do miss my back up camera. I need to find a spot to mount it.

Thanks again guys:cheers:
