Having a little analysis paralysis on selecting a rear spring. Read through any thread that speaks to the OME 2723 and 2724 springs.

I’m doing a refresh on the trucks suspension. The Icon’s are leaking and getting replaced with King 3.0’s. It has Ironman rear springs that sit too high for my liking, likely 3” of lift currently. I would like the rear to be about 1” or so lower. I have a Dissent front and rear bumper, tire carrier, 5 gallon water tank, E&E skids, Slee sliders, ARB drawers and ARB 63qt fridge. All combined after backing out the stock 3rd row I believe I should be around and extra 460lbs for daily driving and 700-800lbs when loaded up for camping with passengers.

2723’s say 440lbs constant and 2724’s are 880 constant.

Is it better to plan for when loaded (about 10 2-4 day trips a year) or for normal daily driving. The 2723’s will likely be more comfortable for standard grocery store driving, but will be overloaded on trips.

Appreciate the feedback!

Gotcha…to me I don’t like level trucks if you’re regularly going to be loaded down with a bunch of gear causing the rear to squat substantially. Have you loaded your current setup down to see how it reacts?

Yeah, I’ve been out with everything 5-6 times this year. I mostly do desert driving and like to boogie. Loaded up the existing springs seem to hold the weight well without squatting at all. Makes me think they are the 2” 880lbs Ironman springs. Hard to say off-road, these Icon shock on here are set up all wrong.

I’m leaning towards the 2723’s just so the rebound unloading isn’t as harsh.

Gotcha…so at higher speeds you’re getting some ass over front end sensations with the current setup? Are you bottoming out right before the rebounds are abrupt or too fast, by chance? Often times an abrupt rebound or kick like a mule is caused from repeated higher speed bumps causing the back end to eventually pack and then buck, which is actually caused by not enough compression dampening, not too quick or lack of rebound dampening. But, that may not be happening with yours.
