I noticed my rear LH/RH sliding windows are quite difficult to open and close. I cleaned the tracks as there was some gunk in there. I tried WD-40 and lithium grease to no avail. Any tips on what to use so these windows will slide easier?

I first tried a search and couldn't find anything. Maybe I didn't look hard enough.

Thanks,

Russell

Some have used Silcone Spray on the front window tracks with good sucess. I would think the same should help on the rear sliders, that and a good cleaning.

Mine can be difficult as well, make sure that the glass is not jammed up. Mine likes to turn in the little room it has causeing it to jam if you just unlatch and yank on it. Using both hands to keep it square in the opening seemed to help alot.

I have oxidation problems under the rubber window seals, almost like caked talcum powder. < not good.

I was able to get a lot of that mess out and now the windows are not binding up.

I hope that you don't have the same problem.

I will try to clean it some more and use silicon spray...thanks.

i had a bunch of oxidation and dusty stuff in my tracks when i got my 80. used compressed air to blow the junk out, the used silicone, works like a charm now.
