I have a 98 4runner with FJ coils in the rear. the 8" bilstiens that are presently installed will fully extend at 22" and hold the axle up. At static they have about 5" of available uptravel to fully compress the shock.
I have a set of Bilstien 10" that run from ~16"-26". If I put these on it should really let the axle droop, but only have ~3" of compress.
I realize a ramp would be convenient to get a bunch of measurements and see exactly what could happen..
I'm just looking for some insight on whats commonly acceptable for the uptravel on the rear shocks?:meh:

Only thing I could think to make work is to lower your bump stops at 2.5" of uptravel so you don't bottom out on the shock. Otherwise raise the top mount for more uptravel.

My old mini truck had about 4" of uptravel and a ton of droop and I liked that setup. Only uptravel was limited by the overload leaf, not the shock. Just make sure your bumpstops stop the axle before you shocks do and give it a try.
