One of the first mods I will make for the 87 60 series will be the rear seat with headrests and I would also like to replace the lap belts. I've been reading some on the main site about the hole and the nut for installation of the seat belts. I can easily tell the hole is there but how do you find if the nut is present? Also where would you guys suggest for finding a rear seat with headrests and the seat belts? I've already gotten prices from Specter but just thought I would ask around locally.

I have an FJ62 rear seat with head rests for sale. It'd save you from shipping it from who knows where. I no longer have the seatbelts though. You could pull the welting off from around the door and pull back the headliner to see if there is a nut in there.

What color is the seat, what condition and how much? I think my friend might notice and have a slight stroke if I investigated too much into the headliner etc. I was hoping there was some easier way of finding out.

Some say to poke a needle through and feel but that didn't work for me. I pulled the plastic panel below it and gently peeled up the liner and exposed the hole and had no luck on my 60.

Brown interior. Dirty but with a good cleaning it shouldn't be too bad. Or swap your fabric onto the '62 frame. $150 for back and bottom with the headrests.

62's have a different fabric pattern than the earlier 60's, 86 and 87 may have something other than the stripes. If I'm not mistaken.

I don't know for sure but I'd heard later 60's had the same fabric as 62's. I don't have a late 60 so I can't be sure. Swapping the fabric is always an option though and can't be too difficult.

I think that is correct, just don't remember for sure, I know I like the early, non-fuzzy head liners, however.

Kief,
Do you know of an easy way to find out if the nut is present for the seatbelt upgrade and do you have any insight regarding the conversion? - Thanks
