I have a rear pinion seal that is leaking on my '07 Tacoma. I had originaly ordered a "generic" seal and after I put it in it IMMEDIATELY started leaking on the lift! Never put the truck back on the ground and it started leaking. I then ordered an OEM Toyota seal and before I installed it I slipped it over the flange base just to see how tight it seals around the flange - it's not really tight al all. You can see a little daylight between the seal and the flange base. The generic one is the same. Have I got the wrong seal? I'm not sure how in the hell oil is NOT supposed to leak between the flange and seal!

There are two different differentials.
So maybe you got the wrong ones.

Unless you know the reason for original seal failure, i would do a good inspection of the pinion bearings.
