Greetings Mud Members,

I'm looking to see if any members have a rear mounted winch on their 40. I know I could use a cradle with a reciever in the rear and may end up going that route. Before I commit to that setup I am hoping to see if anyone has permanently mounted a winch in the rear of their 40.
Please post pictures if you have them.

Thanks

It's been done more than a few times over the years. Even pto setups. Pretty simple. Biggest mistake i have seen people do is neglecting to allow for clearance and access for using the winch or dealing with minor problems on the trail without having to dismount it.

Mark...

ive always had a rear mounted winch on all my trucks even my 6x6 .i ran pto and electric on my fj40s because they always plowed snow.the key is to take care of them and test them out so they work when you need them the most .the factory pto fits nicely up side down under the rear floor not to mention in certain pulls it gives a lot of extra cable when you combine the 2
