Anybody got advice on how to get the upper left hand grommet in the picture attached to the plastic? Added new lights to rear and had to pull to fish wiring but re-attaching grommet to the plastic area is proving elusive.

Any help appreciated

It's been a few years since I removed mine but I think they should be attached to each other and make sure you hear a click when you push it back on.

If you can get the plastic snap in piece out of the hatch your life will be easier. Otherwise just stretch the rubber boot around the plastic lip, start in the back (towards vehicle front) where you can’t see and then work your way around both sides.

yeah, i was considering trying to take it out and put a little pressure on it but it wouldn't come. not sure if it's supposed to come out or not but that certainly would make it much easier..

Using a very blunt right angle pick tool helps stretch the rubber enough to slide over the plastic lip, then methodically work your way around.

good ideas - ill give them a try tomorrow and report back. thanks for help

The white plastic piece does come out of the hole. It's held in by prongs which you can pry away carefully then pull it out. Once out it is easily pushed into the rubber piece then the assembly can be just popped back into the hole.

@badlander was right. Easy fix. Just press in on the clip and it slips out. Attach grommet snd pop back in place.

Happy to help.
Also, the white clip can be removed from the harness to allow clearance for feeding wires and re-taping the rubber seal. It is made up of two identicle halves that can be pryed apart (although not that easily, but doable with the right tools and nimble fingers) then snapped back together around the wires when you are done.
