OK, I know some of you also own the 60 or the 100 series (and the LX470) and wanted to let you know that I've got rear ladders for them on e-bay now. Please check my sig. line link and let me know if I can answer any questions!

I'll put pics of them at the bottom of the thread!

THANKS!!!

OK, you can call me a procrastinator! :hillbilly:

I've had several requests to let people know of my current inventory on my stuff. So, here's a thread with the 80 series ladders (OEM and aftermarket) that I have available currently.

I will be posting new acquisitions as they become available and also I've been toying with the idea of letting them go to the slaughter house (e-bay) if I can't seem to shove the ladders to you guys! :D I'll let you know if that happens, so please subscribe to this thread and check everytime it gets a new post. :D

I'm also thinking about doing the same with the lighting thread (too long and confusing). So please look for that as well as the ladders for the 60 and 100 series in the future.

OK, up first is the OEM ladder from Japan.

BTW, all of the ladders I have and offer mount without any modifications or drilling. :crybaby: (Tears of joy! :hillbilly:)

This used OEM ladder is made of aluminum and is fairly light. As with the other ladders I have it "hooks" to the top part of the tail gate/hatch and hooks/clamps onto the bottom part of the hatch.

This is the exact ladder you would be getting, except I am going to sand and paint both upper and lower hooks/brackets, as well as putting on the paint-protective rubber sheet on the hooks/brackets where they make contact with the vehicle's sheet metal.

I'm going to start out by asking $125, plus shipping.

SOLD!!!

There are two shipping methods availabie: slowboat and express air.

Slowboat is for someone who is busy with his/her life and have little/no time to surf Mud and think about what mod to do next and biting fingernails, waiting for his newly ordered rear ladder to be arrive from Japan. :D It takes 2-3 months. Vague tracking and more chance of damage, too (Insurance is available, but I would rather eat dirt or rot in hell than having to deal with insurance claims with the postal service here: Still waiting to be compensated for a damaged good from August!!! I had purchased and sent the same/replacement item immediately to the customer though, but this experience has made me even more cautious about packing/shipping. :hillbilly:

Regular air and slow are are viable options for sending something that is small and light (less than 2kgs or 4.5 lbs-ish) which would allow you to receive your packets in around 2 to 4 weeks, respectively, but no tracking available.

Was this a thread about various shipping methods from Japan or something else??? :hhmm:

ANYWAY, the other shipping method available for sending ladders is EMS/express air.

For the fact that it takes a lot less time (1 week, max to the US, online tracking) it gets handled a lot less (and probably a little more carefully as well) we can afford to pack it a little more casually/lighter.

That allows this particular ladder to be sent via EMS at 2.5 kgs/5 lbs-ish (compared to the 4 kgs or 9 lbs-ish for the slowboat) because I haven't been using a cardboard box to send them in this manner at about $54.

WOW! GET ON WITH IT ALREADY, you say?

ANYWAY, here are the pics of the ladders, first one, as been mentioned three chapters ago, is a used OEM aluminum ladder with the necessary mounting hardware, detailed/refurbished, etc...

Just for the sake of trying to keep it easy for you to find the price info., again, it's $125, plus shipping.

All of the ladders for the 80 series have been designed to be mounted off to the left, about at the beginning edge of the "Land Cruiser" emblem thingy on the hatch.

However, as it will be demonstrated later you can swap the upper brackets (put the right one on the left and vise versa) and you can mount it on the other side as well. Heck, I even have an extra bracket so if you want to mount it in smack in the middle just to be annoying you can. :steer:

You should be proud of me that I even washed my truck for this very special occasion. :hillbilly:

However, you will notice that I tried to cut corners with the rest of the ladders that I did not mount the bottom brackets. :crybaby: (Tears of regret! :D)

And fially, don't worry I'm going to keep the rest of the posts pretty plain. ;)

So, please don't be afraid to scroll down for more pics.

Up next...

is the same OEM aluminum ladder finished in powder coat(-like?) texture.

It utilizes the same style of bracketry.

Similar shipping costs as above.

$145, plus shipping.

.

Edit: WOW! That does not show the texture of the finish at all, does it?

I'll try to get a pic from my old thread later (I'm on a different/newer/faster comp.)

Old kid on the block...

... this ladder is!

It was one of the first ladders to have been listed on the old thread and is still here! :crybaby: (Tears of shame!)

I believe it is stainless steel and therefore a little bit heavier than the OEM type (not that much though).

I remember that I could not get the brackets and the bolts that the manufacturer provided to work well on my rig and had to finally had to torch the bolts off or something! :crybaby: (Tears of agony!)

Anyway, if someone is interested I will make sure that the provided brackets will work before shipping, or throw in a pair from another ladder, etc...

$125, plus shipping.

Let me know if chrome is your cup of tea. :hillbilly:

Shipping on this, and other non-OEM/aluminum ladders is a bit more as I've just realized a 1.5 kgs (3 lbs-ish) difference in weight between aluminum and steel. So it'll cost $13 more for slowboat and $25 higher with EMS. :crybaby: (Tears of astonishment!)

Aside from the torture it had to endure under my possession this one is new/never been used. ;)

Off to the right...

....this one is mounted, to show you that these ladders can be mounted on either side.

This one is the same as the chrome one and has hardly ever been used (The PO told me that it was "new", but there are clear signs of use).

That said, it's still in VERY good condition, deserved to be referred as "almost" new. :hillbilly:

I will report to you if there are any issues with mounting this one as it was manufactured by the same shop that had made the chrome one.

.

$165, plus shipping.

This will weigh about the same as the chrome one, so it'll cost a bit more to ship than the OEM/aluminum counterpart(s).

Another powdercoated one....

bites the dust!

When I put this one up on the hatch I was like: "OK, I musta got the upper bracket on the wrong sides" because the ladder was a tad crooked. So upon swapping them IT WAS WORSE!!! :crybaby: (Tears of anger! OK, I guess there is , but I get no tears with  :hillbilly:)

This is a different variation of the above ladder, but with a slightly different mounting shape at the bottom.

I don't think it would cause a serious problem once mounted. And even though you might not be able to tell in the pics, but it is a bit tweaked.

Again, if someone expresses interest in this one I will mount it all the way with the provided brackets and see how well (or badly) it (doesn't) mount and tell you about it.

I wish I could have mounted all of these ladders with the proper brackets that they came with, but I wanted to get the pics done and the thread started before the end of the day so I would not be called a liar (again! :hillbilly:)

I hope you guys know that I will not make you pay for something I know that would not work and if I did unknowingly I will take care of it the right way, right away.

Let me know if you want to drive a hard bargain as I'm always willing to listen to entertaining offers! ;) If I can't let these guys go here I will probably will end up putting them up on e-bay after a while. So again, please subscribe to this thread and check when there's a new post and you should know when you might get a chance to pick these up for less than my asking prices!

And finally, thanks for putting up with my poor sense of humor and even poorer attempt to appear funny. :)

Thanks as always for looking!

Mot

This one is too crooked as the right side of the ladder appears to be bent. If anyone feels confident in bending it down a bit I would be happy to let you have it for $25 (Plus shipping). It still will come with the necessary mounting hardware.

SOLD!!!

Close-up

OK, I found a pic of the finish that I had referred as "powdercoated" earlier.

It looks black from afar, but looks like this upon close examination.

I think it looks OK, but might not be everyone's cup of tea. ;)

Mot, you are the man! I like the OEM one, the first one, ill PM you in a bit

Apologies

I need to publicly acknowledge that I've been a slacker and have put a couple of you who have expressed interest on these ladders on the backburner.

I'm going to use this as a reminder to get her done hopefully this week!

Thanks for your patience!

Here are some pics of me working on detailing some of them last week (and a little while back).

I had been using the good ol' sand paper, but it was just plain too dang slow!

So last week I went and bought some stuff to make my job a little easier/quicker.

I'll post and let you know when I get them ready to go!

Thanks again guys, for your patience!!

(I know what you're thinking.... "Well, Sh@t, instead of snapping pictures and posting them and stuff, you should be working!!!"

I KNOW!!! :hillbilly:

DUDE! I had no idea that you were doing the repairs/cleaning yourself!!!!

I think its time for me to piss or get off the pot myself. The ONLY reason I haven't jumped on the ladder deal is because I am waiting until my new (to me) IPOR bumper/tire carrier comes in so I know what I am working with.

Hey, don't worry Joey, I'm sure I'll still have a billion ladders for sale whenever you're ready! :flipoff2:

Worked on them a little more ...

It's the welds that look ugly, not my awful paint job!! :D

I took them off the hanger tonight and noticed that a couple of them had tiny specs of spots that must have touched each other and did not have any paint on!

Surprisingly I have enjoyed sanding and spray painting a lot more than I thought.
It definitely helps to have proper equipment as well. (Makes it more fun/tolerable for sure!)

Wow! Nice and clean! I've got a cheque with your name on it...

Feel free to add antoher zero or two!! :hillbilly:

My 20,000sqft open-air painting facility (my yard) is inoperable since it's been raining!

Thanks again for your patience!

Mot :)

I tried to fix the chippings and not sure how well I did.

I had to buy another can of paint and used it all, too!

I think I'm done painting though. If the buyers want to do some more, please feel free!

I'll try to get the misc. mounting nuts/bolts sometime next week (I think I've got most though) and take pics and stuff and post, I hope!

Thanks for the reminder (and patience) though! I appreciate it!!

Mot :)

I hope you're sittin' down...

Finally got my butt in gear today (sort of) and try to put a couple of the ladders together.

I just need to make the paint protective rubber sheets cut out and put on the brackets, as well as changing a couple of the bolts to the hex(?) type for better/secure installation.

I'll try to contact the folks that have expressed interest in the order that have been expressed, either via PM or here on the thread and get in touch with you/them.

But please feel free to PM and and let me know when you contacted/expressed interest first and which ladder, if you have that record so I'll have less chance of messing it up and pissing you off!

I'll try to work on the rest of them over the course of the next week or so (I know, heaven forbid I try to get them all done in one day, or even one week!)

And lastly, but not least, I'll have to apologize for the poor paint job I did on the brackets. Through this project I have learned that it is not as easy as shake, point, and spray... I'm afraid that you'll probably end up wanting to do it correctly when you get them.

Thanks again for your patience!
