The rear fenders were cut very high by the PO on my 40 and it looks terrible. I have seen pics of flares for the rear. They seem to be on by rivets. Where can I get these?

Are you talking about plastic flares? You might be thinking about Wrangler flares. I don't have a 40 but I THINK that people just trip the wheel wells to fit the 40 flares then attach them...try a search in the 40 forum under "Wrangler flares" or "Jeep flares."
TJ flares are what you are refering to. They bolt on and the bolts are hidden under the flare. Do a search for tj flare and you will get some ideas. That is what is on my 40. Your wheel wells look like they are cut already to fit them pretty close.

Thanks OCD. CCOT sells them for $177!!! whereas SOR for $100. I guess they are the same thing.
The standard flares won't fit your cut fenders. Either try the SOR ones made for cut fenders or get the TJ flares. The TJ flares can be found for $50 or less. I got mine for free with some hunting.

Your cut outs look huge. I have a set of the SOR style flares for cut fenders and a set of TJ flares if you want to compare versus your cutouts. To me the TJ flares dont look right unless you have a set of wide 35's or bigger.

The SOR flares are on my truck. I have a set of TJ ones laying around.

Not yet. I was waiting to see my Cruiser with the lift on before I made my decision.
The TJ flares have been trimmed up some. If you want another set I think I can get them from the same guy for $35 or $50 a set (I cant remember). He had a lot of them. If you want to take a look at either you are more than welcome to swing by my house over the weekend. I will be doing a disc swap on the 40.
