Hello all, I'm here to see if any of you had any solution or suggestion to my problem. I have 2008 LC with rear entertainment system and it gets used quite often since we have 2 little boys. During last fishing trip up to RI, my son put his foot on the screen while it was closing for a brief moment. Now the screen won't open. So far I've check the fuse and it looks good, I also went through the manual but didn't find anything. I tried opening it from front display, but the rear button which used to be there is now gone. I also noticed dim red lights on the rear unit itself is not lit up either. It's as if the car is not recognizing the whole rear unit. I appreciate any help since my next option would be to bring it to my dealer. Thanks.

Try disconnecting the positive battery terminal for a few minutes. Maybe a hard reset will do wonders.

Just tried it but didn't work. Thanks for the idea.

With regards to the rear dvd...do u hear or feel (with your hand on the side of the monitor housing) the motor turn at all? I'm assuming you can here the movie playing...u just can't see it. I haven't looked at the fuses, but could there be one dedicated to the monitor motor? It could have burned up when the motor was trying to overcome the little guys foot.

No I can't hear any sound from it at all. It's as if the whole rear system is disconnected from the main system. I've checked the manual several times and came up with nothing. I even checked the online repair manual and interestingly it has no information regarding rear entertainment system at all. I'll probably have my dealer take a look at it when I bringing it in for service next time.

get a multimeter and see if power is being supplied to the player and motor assembly.
