Looking for the best set up for a portable DVD player I can add to the back seat of my 80. Got a 1 year old boy and want to take 5 hour trip this month.

Here is the setup I put in this weekend.

Ran a new fuse block under the pass. seat and put these headrests in. They work pretty slick. Mine are 8, 5, and 3 and they love them. They also have video games on them and the kids like those as well. I am thinking if you have a 1 year old this is something they can grow into. Trust me once you put a DVD in your rig you will never drive something without one. The best babysitter ever.

OK, that is sweet. your right he could grow into it! Exactly. Tell me where you got the stuff , what kind it is and how you hooked up a new fuse block under the pass. seat, please.:bounce:

Here is the units that I put in my rig.

They seem to be pretty good quality and their shipping was super fast. The picture quality is really good and the sound options are good as well, built in speaker, included headphones, or fm radio. Install was pretty easy as well.

As for an aux fuse block that is pretty straight forward as well. I ran a 8g wire from the battery through the firewall by the passenger seat to the under the seat location. Then ran a relay off the under seat heat so that fuse block was switched with the ignition, then wired the dvd’s for power. Here is the threads that I consulted for info.

Here is the finished product in my rig. I have some spaces left to run some more toys.

Great write up. Excellent! The install looks pro!
How does the headrest match up with the seats?

They match pretty good not perfect but close enough. You can see a slight difference in the pics but it is hardly noticable. The only Issue I really have with them is the posts fit pretty good but if you have the headrests raised at all they sag a little on one side. I bet some clear tape wrapped around the DS post would fix that, make them a little more snug. They are pretty comfortable all the way down that is where I will keep them.
