I did a search but being a novice did not find my answer. My two front door lights work great, but my two rear never come on. Is there something I am missing?

If the rear dome lamp is not set to "DOOR", that could be your problem, but I'm sure you checked that. My old Cruiser had the same problem, and I fixed it by replacing the door ajar switches.

The rear door lights will only work if your cup holder is fully functional.

Forgot about that damn cup holder. I have a feeling it is overworked as of late.

There is a pressure switch in the bottom of the cupholder. When correctly loaded the switch sends signal to the ECU and the rear door light come on.

On some NON USA 80s that did not come factory with the rear door light the switch activates the smoke generator and oil spewer.

Off thread, but what the hell are you doing up this early? Today is a vacation.

OK, have tried everything I know, even the cupholder thingy. Still no rear door lights.

But, did the smoke generator and oil spewer start up. That would be way cool.

This may be a long shot but it is just possible the constant adhesive value of your wood trim adhesive was not set correctly by the PO. If that is the situation the ECU may get a random signal that would cause the switch in the cupholder to short out; thus no rear door lights.

Mine didn't work either, when I got it last year. I took the door switch out, WD 40'd the crap outta 'em, worked the plunger about 50,000 miles worth and they're still working.
