I'm dreaming of disc brakes in the rear, but would like to keep the handbrake at the rotors. Using original Toyota parts from the 80 series is to expensive. I did see a lot of conversions here, but al without the handbrake at the wheels. So has anyone tried this or has a link to the post ?

Use a complete hzj73 rear axle

I have used a Subaru Front Brake caliper, with a Hand brake built in.

the simple way, you could use a pair of hilux 84-92 front rotors, custom bracket and voilá
a proportional valve and keep it the lspv

I've had the rear drum and the rear disc. There is no noticeable difference to braking if both are functioning properly.
But I agree with Hulsty, the drum handbrake is better.
