I have a popping sound that occurs mostly when I turn. I took my truck to the dealer and they said its the rear diff. The truck was running fine until I replaced the rear diff fluid with royal purple 80-90, and then the noise started. It was getting worse so I took it to the dealer, and after 4 days they called and explained that they are sure its the rear diff. We replaced the fluid with the dealer recommended fluid and its still happening. What do you guys think? or Is there a rear diff replacement that I can just swap out or should I just replace the gears? Any suggestions?

I saw you posted in the other diff thread. Research friction modifier, you might consider adding 1 or 2 units. I'm not savvy on limited slip and non limited slip and if any of the models and years / options had different differentials. Hopefully someone can share that has run into this on a 100.

Thank you, I will check it out...

There was a sticker on the rear diff that says u must add LSD additive. Did they do that? My dealer forgot and now my rear diff has a groaning sound when I make slow turns in fwd and reverse. they added new fluid with the LSD additive and said it should go away soon...

They told me they replaced the fluid and added additive. I will make sure it's LSD additive and drive it for a while and see what happens. Thank you
