Greetings,

Looking to replace the two main brake hardlines to the rear on my 2000LC. After 22 years in the northeast they are starting to show some rust spots especially where the clamps are. So who has done this and what am I getting myself into here? The factory lines have lasted 22 years so that is what I will try to replace with. Can the lines be installed onto the truck without using a lift or removing a ton of other parts? How about bleeding procedure? I have replaced hard lines to the rear on other vehicles and is a pain to bleed sometimes. Anything special procedure here to not damage other sensitive equipment? If I have to I can make custom lines for them. Typical cost on a dealer replacing the lines? Yes there is rust on the undercarriage.

Thanks for any feedback
Sean

I bought new OEM Toyota hard lines to replace mine. The only crappy part was getting the rear driver side line across and then over the crossmember above the trans/t-case (it originates at the union by the front pass tire). Definitely buy all new frame clips to keep the lines attached to the frame rails - those clips are plastic and break easily. Bleed with Techstream.
