I have a Euro-spec 92 HJZ73 that came without a rear bench seat installed. I picked up an OEM fold-and-tumble bench when I bought it, and am finally getting around to installing it.

Would anyone mind snapping some pictures of how their factory bench mounts so I can get an idea of how I should do mine? Just looking for a good starting point, or some inspiration for fabbing up my mounts.

The front mounts look pretty easy, I'm more curious about the rear portion where the bench clicks into the floor. Or if anyone has rigged up something non-OEM such as sliding rails, etc.

I thought it just bolted to the floor with the integrated seat belts. Im thinking you must be missing some parts. Does your seat have 1 or 2 mountings? The early models without seat belts had 1 mounting, the later ones with belts had 2 floor mountings.

The way it was explained to me is that for Cruisers sold in Europe, if they have the rear seat installed it has to be registered as a passenger vehicle (which apparently costs a few thousand $$$). If there's no rear seat it's a "utility" vehicle, and the registration is only a few hundred. So my cruiser was sold as a utility vehicle with no rear seat - thus it's missing the mounting points for it as well, so I'll have to fab some up for it.

The front's I'm not worried about because it looks like it just bolts through the floor with some added reinforcing metal underneath. I was just trying to see how the OEM rear mounts looked so I can have a starting point to go off of. I can see the area where they need to mount, but it's just flat sheet metal, no cutouts, brackets, or holes. From your pictures it seems simple enough to duplicate though. Just cut out those "buckets" for the bracket to rest in and bolt a piece of bar on top. I thought maybe it was a little more involved than that...

Hello,

Since it is an HZJ73 there should be two anchor points, one near each wheel well.

Two additional points for the release mechanism. Just as Rosco / @roscoFJ73 's pictures show.

It is worth to check for captive nuts in the body.
