Looks like my rear axle, passenger side, is leaking. Is this a big job to fix? We're currently on a road trip and I'd prefer to wait until I get back to Phoenix to repair. It's about a 300 mile drive home.

Not sure if it caused the leak but we spent last week in some serious mud and spent some serious time under the Cruiser with a high pressure hose cleaning. Currently at 86k miles.

Funny how this crap seems to alway happen during road trips.

Shoot spressoman a pm. He has the most knowledge on this as far as i know. You will need a shop with a press. It is not something you can service in the field.

Check your diff breather. That getting caked with mud and causing excessive air pressure buildup seems to be the root cause of the 100 series axle leaking.

Should have mentioned that I checked the breather and unfortunately it's clear.
