Hey everyone justweldit (Shawn from Fountain Hills) went out to Rocker Panel Pass / Camp creek area... the Jeep that went with him broke an axle, Dana 20... anyone have spare parts for this thing or know someone who does? The tire / wheel / brake drum / axle assembly slid out of the axletube (sounds like the c-clip broke but I'm no Jeep expert).

They're OK just trying to limp it home but they are on the other side of the big hill that you need to get over before you can see the valley or FH (sorry can't be more specific).

If anyone can help or know someone that may have these parts call me or text me at Six Oh Two 768-31 Seven Two

Marc

If they are past the trench at Rocker Panel, continuing on the road that they are on until they get to 160 then left will bring them out Sycamore/Sugar Loaf, much easier than going back trough Rocker Panel.

I have no idea on heep parts, not much on their tech, but did see something once that may help? A heep coming off of the trail with a hi-lift handle strapped outside of the tire. They said that it broke an axle, they shoved it back together and tied the handle to rub on the tire, keeping it from walking out.:hillbilly:

I guess it's pretty common, there is even a "tool" so you don't have to scratch the paint off of your jack handle!:hillbilly:

That area is very unfriendly to Yeep's, 2 years ago the exact same thing happened wheelin with Jason Bowmans Exo'd XJ...except the rest of his Yeep group left him there...(loyatly) we ran out to rescue, tried the jack handle and front wheel drive only / winch / tow strap..after 3 hours of that we left the Yeep and ran into town and got another shaft shaft and more tools...spent the rest of the night tearing down and rebuilding fully by campfire / bic / flashlight. The wife was not real happy, as I had our 3 year old son out over night in a wash without plans or communication...

I know what you mean by riding soft & heavy, 3 guys, my son, every conceivable tool we could load in that night is why my gas tank holds a gallon less!

Jason bought axles F & R within a week later and went full size. (Dana 44 front 14 bolt rear.)

Wish I was in town to lend a hand...
