Family of 4, interior packed to the gills.

El Dorado Hills, CA to Park City, Utah and back. 1501 miles, ~60k ft gain over the sierras twice etc., 92.8 Gallons, 16.2mpg

I had the best results around Salida, CO. That lasted for about 1 hour. Pics included.
For comparison, a long trip mileage through KS and MO, same date. I attribute the slight drop in MPG between CO/KS and MO maybe to lower altitude and higher air density since everything else was constant. Driving consistently around 70 but mostly at 75 mph and similar RPMs.
(1 person, decently loaded for a 5-day trip, including a large fridge, water canister, ARB compressor, 4x matrix. 36 PSI, extra tank. I do not go over 75 mph. It probably could get consistently > 19 if going at 60-65 mph).
Engineer pass / Alpine loop MPG was not measured - since it does not matter in the overall context (a much shorter distance compared to long-distance road trip).

My ‘13 LX is mostly stock, 33” ATs on 16’s, Yakima round bars on LC rails and various rack attachments: iKamper mini, Yakima skinny warrior, mega warrior, ski racks,….

this thread is why I rarely drive the LX anyone and I’m Very likely to get a Silverado EV WT4 to use as my tow rig. I get 8-9 mpg pulling my camper, ~12 mpg with my RTT, average 12 mpg around town, and best day of the year running 55-60 mph get 16 mpg on the highway.

I just did a 560 mile round trip to a bike race in the Tesla, camped in my ground tent set up. I spent $42.12 total charging and it took me less time to charge then it would have to get gas. Same trip in the LX would have been ~$325 in gas. Im all about “smiles per mile” but not too keen on wasting $$$$.

This was with the lady friend and my two little dogs. Tent camping setup for 2 and small fridge for food plus some water. I have no drawers on this thing and it will probably stay that way. I like runnin light now. No roof rack yet either. Average for the 2000ish mile trip was 18.6. Mainly highway and usually keeping it below 70.. sometimes would cruise 75.. but I noticed the avg would slowly start ticking down. At 65 to 70 on Cruise the engine seems happy. It was also hot as hell and I am mindfull of blowing tires. I have sadly seen many fatalities on the road due to blowouts over the years. Im still on stock michelin tires.

The 17.2 lifetime avg was like 5.8 when I got the truck a few weeks ago. But my oldman driving style has improved it alot.

Makes me Happy because this is normally what I consider good mpg for me in my 18 wheeler. Because I drive an 18 for a livin I am not in a hurry when driving my 4 wheeler, I set the cruise and go.
