So I am wondering if anyone knew which window was the cheapest to replace on the 100? I locked my only set of keys and my truck is in the garage. I'm wondering if it would be cheaper to do a window than a locksmith on a holiday weekend.

Yeah the locksmith is on the way. And I am going to have to bite the bullet and spend the $$ to get a spare key made! Should have done it FOREVER AGO!

Don't break the window.

All the locksmith will do is force a wedge in between the top part of the passenger door and the pillar. By wedging the top of the door open, you can create a gap of 2 or 3 inches- more than enough to maneuver a coat hangar or something inside the vehicle to either retrieve the keys, or to grab the inside door handle and open the door.

You can do this yourself without damaging anything- just be sure to cover the wedge with a soft cloth or some duct tape to avoid chipping the paint on the door or the pillar.

The 100-series is not very hard to break into.

Once you get into the truck; have a spare key cut- just the metal without the transponder chip will do- it will cost about two dollars. Duct tape the spare key to the underside of the truck somewhere (don't tell anyone!). You can then use the cheap spare to open a door next time you lock your keys inside.

Hope this helps...

Yeah I tried doing the pry open the door thing. Messes up the paint there cause I'm a damn idiot! But oh well, $80 later a pop-a-lock came and saved the day!

You can have a lockout key made at a dealer for very cheap or free. Probably a good idea to have a full function extra key.
